Why Now?!? [Mar. 15th, 2007|02:36 pm]
[mood | annoyed]
[music |Road to Zion by Damian Marley w/Nas]

I don't have to like Nigel McGuinness to admit he is one of the best wrestlers I've ever wrestled and anyone who has seen Nigel wrestle knows he hits very very very hard. Well you put Mr. McGuinness in front of 1500 of his country men and tell him its a "Fight Without Honor", well you'd probably walk away with a broken jaw also. Don't worry Nigel I've got a receipt for that clothesline of yours!

If you haven't heard by now your favorite wrestler Jimmy Rave, has a broken jaw. It's cracked on the right side of my bottom mandible. I did wrestle with it broken in FIP because I thought I could get through the pain but Monday morning I went to the Dr. and he said it was infected and I needed it to be wired shut. So now I'm on a liquid diet and on a light training schedule.

JIMMYRAVE.COM

Nothing more depressing than having a ton of momentum and then one day it all gets pulled right from under your feet. The thing is I make my own momentum so this isn't a set back for me, this is motivation time for me. I sit back and read all the smart ass comments and emails made about my injury and let it fuel my fire. Do NOT sleep on Jimmy Rave!

Tick Tick Tick [Jan. 30th, 2007|12:24 am]
[mood | Puzzled]
[music |"Day Dreaming" by Lupe Fiasco and Jill Scott]

When I think about my career as a pro wrestler I look at all the opportunities I've had or have passed up. A sport where chances are only presented to certain people at certain times in their careers. Life is the same way... Let's be honest we all don't get the same shots at life. Some of us are stuck fighting from the bottom our whole lives. You can deal with it your whole life. Waiting and waiting and waiting for your time to shine. Or you look at yourself in the mirror one day and say "why am I waiting? Fuck waiting! I'm going to make my own opportunities!"

People have told me to my face I wouldn't be a main eventer... people have looked at me and told me I wouldn't do shit in pro wrestling... people have stood nose to nose to me and told me I was a joke! HAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA Yeah I'm a joke .... It's funny when you think about it really... So funny that I've taken myself from being a kid who ROH didn't want to deal with in 2004 to the man facing Homicide in New York City's Manhattan Center in front of what could be a sell out crowd for the RING OF HONOR WORLD TITLE.

Ring of Honor and Pro Wrestling has been testing me for a long time now. Prove yourself Jimmy Rave and you'll get those chances others get... I've proved myself every time something's presented to me. I didn't fail against CM Punk! I didn't fail against Aj Styles! I didn't fail against Generation Next! I didn't fail against Bryan Danielson! I've not failed against Nigel McGuniess! I've earned everything I've gotten! I started in ROH in 2003 and almost 4 years later I've got an opportunity to shut peoples mouths. A chance to stop the doubters! A chance to show Ring of Honor and its fans that I'm tired of waiting for my turn to shine.... I'm not waiting very much longer! I'm going to make my on destiny even if that means dying in a Ring of Honor ring!

Which Direction? [Nov. 18th, 2006|11:59 pm]
[mood |Lost]
[music |Viva La White Girl by Gym Class Heroes (my new favorite band]

Everything I've done in life has lead me here... Gate D-12 at Atlanta Hartsfield Airport. I'm sitting here listening to my Ipod, watching strangers passby on their own journey through life. While I sit here I think about all the weekends I've had to leave my wife and daughter at home. The two people I care about most sacrifce for me to live out my dream. Then I ask myself is it worth it....

Wrestling is such a rollercoaster of emotions. The fans see what we do in the ring and judge us based on that. Fine by me... I suppose. I'm sure they don't take into account what happens in our lives outside of a cold arena. They could care less that we are breaking our bodies down and putting our lives on the line. The arrogance of some of these fans is what drives me.

I was in some hot water at the last ROH show. After myself and Bryan Danielson wrestled a hard match against Samoa Joe and Nigel McGuinness (and trust me those two boys hit harder than you can even begin to imagine!) some fans decided it would be cute to throw a roll of toliet paper at me. I understand that was a cute little tradition people had during my run with the Embassy but that is over with. I let my emotions get the best of me and went after one of the fans. Do I regret it? Yes... I regret not smacking him senseless!

I admit I'm a little lost right now but as I sit here and think about what's important to me I realize what I have to do. Being lost is motivation. My fears are gone and with that away goes the disappointments.

Back From Dragon Gate! [Oct. 9th, 2006|01:14 pm]
[mood | exhausted]
[music |Sweet Potato Pie by Domino (Old School)]

I'm back from Japan after 17 days of wrestling for Dragon Gate. When I landed in Osaka, I had a day to settle in but the next morning started a 6 day straight run of shows. Every day driving 3 to 4 hours to the next town then wrestling. Everything went very well and I had a blast! I really admire all the wrestlers at Dragon Gate, they are some of the hardest working wrestlers I've seen. The Muscle Outlawz treated me awesome, taking me out to dinner a lot. They really took me under their wing. It was a great experience!

But.... One day before the show I was working out in the ring and tore my right shoulder. We still had 4 shows left at that point and I was able to get it taped up really well and survived the rest of the tour. When I got home I was so tired after 16 hours of flying I slept for a few days hoping my shoulder would heal up.

Durning this whole time there was some kinda shakeup with ROH and Nana. I don't know the whole story and its none of my business, but Nana's gone. I wanna take this time to thank him for all the hard work he put into me and the Embassy. We started off as two guys working together ... To two FRIENDS making something special work in pro wrestling. Our chemistry was unmatched and he'll be missed!

This weekend was ROH and it was rough on my shoulder. Pro wrestling is so hard to take time to rest injuries because if I don't wrestle I don't get paid and outta sight outta mind. So like everyone else at ROH we try to work through the pain and rehabilitate slowly. Oh well....

Thank God! [Sep. 12th, 2006|02:12 pm]
[mood | excited]
[music |Turn The Page- Bob Segar]

Guess what Ring of Honor fans.. I don't have to share oxygen with you morons this weekend. I don't have to go to that slum of a city called New York! AND.. I don't have to to deal with your immature antics of throwing bathroom products at me! You people and ROH don't respect me or appreciate me! Therefore, I will be going to the Land of the Rising Sun... A place where I'm adored, a place where people cherish everything about Jimmy Rave and a place that isn't full of pimpled-faced teenage "know it alls"

Well, I'm back from my tour of Dragon Gate in Japan and it was amazing. I
had a great time wrestling in Japan and especially wrestling for Dragon
Gate. I was treated very well and had some really fun matches. I will
forever remember Sumo Wrestling Roderick Strong in Korakuen Hall! And
calling Azerial an Azhole the whole trip. And finding a new love of playing
darts!

I've decided to make the new Jimmy Rave T-Shirts available first to the fans
of the UK!

I'm not in a very typing mood due to having a head injury this weekend. A
slight concussion and 7 staples on the top of my head later, I feel like
shit. Not only that, but I've got an bad left shoulder.

Why am I doing this?

Someone's a poor sport [Jun. 27th, 2006|01:11 pm]
[mood | annoyed]
[music |Cry Me A River by Justin Timberlake]

Awwww... So, the Ring of Honor fans can't handle getting beaned by toliet paper anymore? Well, you people started this war and now you can't finish it? COWARDS! It's no suprise though... I'm sure I've done the following durning my high speed, rapid fire, tp hurling:

broken a few pocket protectors, spilled numerous beers and other alcoholic drinks, pegged a few girlfriends in their ugly faces (thus causing breakups), popped zits off of dirty teenage faces, ruined a 17 year old's copy of the March 1996 Wrestling Observer, knocked off a hairpiece and I believe I beaned a kid's mom and she backhanded him for it...

Since you people can't handle it that means once again... Jimmy Rave WINS! If you can't stand the heat get the F outta the kitchen! Losers!

Other notes from this weekend... I was split open on Friday night via Davey Richards. I recieved a small deep gash over my left eye. I went straight to the doctor's office as soon as I arrived in Atlan...Ghana. They told me I should have recieved stitches the night it occured but that it is now healing fine. Getting hurt just pisses me off!

Ghana next WORLD CUP WINNERS!!

Next stop... DRAGON GATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here We Go.... [Jun. 23rd, 2006|12:57 am]

[mood | irritated]
[music |Ghetto Story by Baby Cham]

Before I go into this long rant I've got some good news for Jimmy Rave fans... Maybe as soon as Monday morning we will be selling Jimmy Rave t-shirts on www.jimmyrave.com. We will post some pictures as soon as they are available!

I want to address some emails I've gotten lately... I'm not answering any questions about the shit that went down between me and Davey Richards last weekend. So stop asking. Next, I will not respond to any homosexual comments that are emailed to me. Keep that stuff to yourself, or ill have Mrs. Rave kick your ass! Lastly, yes I will be returning to Cornelia, Ga for Nwa-Anarchy on July 1st. I'll be wrestling the Anarchy Heavyweight Champion Chad Parham.

Which brings me to this... I'm hearing rumors that the hillbillys and rednecks that populate Cornelia are thinking of throwing toilet paper at me! Ask anyone that goes to a Ring of Honor show and they will tell you its a bad idea! Same goes for the fans in Japan and UK! I do not want to start an international incident over this. So if you know what's good for you, leave the toilet paper at home!

In closing I want to leave you with this quote from a man that I admire very much:

"That's a lot of rules.. A lot of rules! On the streets there wasn't any rules. Well, maybe one... No kicks to the groin"

***World Domination Begins*** [May. 8th, 2006|10:31 pm]
[mood | \]
[music |"Turn The Page" Bob Seiger]

I've got a busy schedule coming up in the next few months with ROH, FIP, IWA Deep South, Going out to Cali for the New Japan Best of the American Super Juniors Tourny, and possible return to NWA Anarchy. I'm stoked about it!

I've been really motivated since my match with Bryan Danielson from back in Feb. Sometimes a single match can spark a fire under your ass and that one surely did. Going toe to toe with the Ring of Honor Champ and the second "Best Wrestler in the World" (me being the first of course), meant a lot to me because of "certain" people's doubts. I'm not one to bitch and complain about people doubting me... I say screw it and prove them wrong. I suggest everyone else do the same. It's hard for someone to deny anything when you provide them with the proof and shove it right in their face! Keep that in mind!

I'm excited at the possibility of going back to NWA Anarchy! I've been paying close attention to what they've been doing there and big ups to them. Keep an eye out for NWA Anarchy TV and DVDs!

Lastly, my schedule is going to be a little bit busier. I'm doing my first tour of Japan in July for the Dragon Gate promotion!!!!!! That's right... The Crown Jewel to the Land of the Rising Sun! Dragon Gate is one of my favorite companies to watch and I'm honored to be going over there. I really enjoyed competing against the Do Fixers in Chicago on 4/1/06. If you haven't seen Dragon Gate then you're totally missing out.

Well, I've graced you with my presence and talked about some stuff. You people owe me big time! Here's an idea... Get a life!

Big Things to Come [Apr. 27th, 2006|04:17 pm]
[mood | excited]
[music |'If I Ruled The World' by Nas]

Usually, when I update this thing I talk about how much I hate the fans of pro wrestling but today i'm in a good mood (you people are still beneath me).

When I started in pro wrestling, I was wrestling in front of 35 people in a little town called White, Ga and getting paid very little money. But boy was that the life for me and I was just happy being a pro wrestler.

The opportunities that I've gotten since that time have been incredible. Never would I have thought I'd get to do some of the stuff i've done up to this point. But it's far from over... Keep checking back for some big updates.

Luck [Jan. 23rd, 2006|12:25 pm]
[mood | frustrated]
[music |"Hold Ya Head" Notorious BIG w/ Bob Marley]

CM Punk is probably the most influential person in my career.  He's
taught me so much inside and out of the ring.  Punk and I beat the shit
out of each other many times, but I always came out of it learning a
valuable lesson. He once told me, "Luck is for losers!"  This weekend I
finally realized what that means.  Luck is for people who don't "have
it", people who are lazy and people that don't have drive.

I like seeing people who I'm close to succeed, everyone else can kiss my
ass.  Nothing sucks worse than when you try to help someone and they
spit in your face.  Over time they'll realize they are wrong and come
back wanting that opportunity again, but with me it won't be there.

Someone said to me this weekend, "good luck with your career."  I
responded with, "I don't need luck, when I have opportunities come to me
I take them!"  That's how you accomplish goals in life.  When you see an
opportunity you take it and run with it and you don't EVER stop!  I get
it now, Punker... Thank you!

The Embassy you fools!

Fed Up [Oct. 20th, 2005|05:17 pm]
[mood |Bitter]
[music |Burn It Up - R Kelly]

When people first started throwing streamers at me durning my entrances,
I found it amusing. Fun and games ha ha ha... Then it kept happening
and then it turned into bath poufs and now.... Toliet Paper? That's
just disrespectful. But then again what am I to expect from wrestling
fans? The same people who tend to judge everything I do...

"Whoa, did you see that, SpiderManFan338? Jimmy Rave took 16 steps to
the ring this match"

"Yep but actually it was 14 and a half... He's gonna lose a star now for
this match."

Well, now I'm not coming to the Ring of Honor show 10/29! That'll teach
em! I will make my return to ROH on 11/4 in Detroit, MI and 11/5 in
(ugh!) Chicago Ridge, IL. And... If the ROH fans in the Mid West decide
to be cute and throw toliet paper at me on either of those shows, I will
personally slap each and everyone of them on their way out of the
building!

Next week you will be able to purchase a Best of Jimmy Rave DVD! All
the info will be on www.JimmyRave.com I am pretty excited about it
because I hand picked the matches for it. Be sure to check that out!

Whatever! [Sep. 15th, 2005|08:53 am]
[mood | blah]
[music |My Humps by Black Eyed Peas]

Ok, so I'm sick and tired of everyone emailing me and asking when I'm
gonna update this thing so here ya go...

First thing first... Hello to my beautiful wife Felicia and my sister in
law Kara... Ironically, they bug me about updating this thing to..

Now on to business... I would have wrote about hating internet fan but
my buddy Alex Shelley took care of that and I give him a 5 ring post
rating on that. What a great pairing Alex Shelley, Spanky and Myself
were? Although I can't hold a beat doing the Spanky dance... Damn!
Alex hit on a lot of great points and said a lot of the same stuff I've
thought for awhile. These people love to talk about shit they don't
know about... Besides I can beat all of you up!

When I got home from FIP a few weeks ago, my right shoulder was killing
me. I had hurt it years ago and never had it looked at and just kept
going. By mid week I could hardly lift it and the middle of my back was
aching too. So my wife sent me to the chiropractor. I've never been to
one before but this guy had previously worked on a lot of WCW talent.
After he got done checking me out he found out I had a dislocated
collarbone and shoulder but luckily I hadn't torn any ligiments and he
fixed me up. Thank God!

Keep checking www.JimmyRave.com for updates on merchandise coming real
soon! And if you don't buy it I will beat you up...

Check www.stevierichards.com/steviecorp for a entertaining picture from
my mentor!

In closing... I have "it" and you don't!

Last Rites [May. 3rd, 2005|02:36 pm]
[mood | confused]

I know I've already posted somewhat of a good bye to NWA Wildside a few
weeks ago, but now its offical. I canceled my booking in Columbus, GA
for GCW to be able to be part of the final show for the promotion that
gave me all the tools to achieve what I have. Before the show Sal
Rinauro and I hit the gym and got some food. The whole time while we
were riding to the show, it seems like just another night in Cornelia.
When we got to the show the first person I saw was the new promoter for
the Wildside areana, Thomas Simpson. I said my "hellos" and found a
spot in the crowded locker room.
My match for the night was against Matt Sydal and Ray Gordy in a 3 way
elimanation match. The only other time I've wrestled Matt was his first
TNA Explosion match and it was very quick so I was really looking
forward to this match. Well, I wasn't advertised so Sal strutted to
ringside and told the crowd that the "man who made Wildside" was now
part of the match. When I walked through the curtain, I was amazed at
the turn out. Standing room only! It was a proud moment ruined by all
the "jimmy sucks" chants but none the less a proud moment. The match
went very well until Ray Gordy hit me with a top rope exploder suplex to
get the win. When I was leaving even some of the fans who've always
hated gave me a poliet clap... That ment a lot!
I really hope everyone who followed Wildside knows that we all put a lot
of effort into giving a good product. Some of you watched us grow up
not just as people but as professional wrestlers. I had just turned 18
when I started wrestling at Wildside and had only a year experience
prior to starting there. Its been a big part of my career and personal
life for the past 5 years. It will never be forgotten.... Thanks to
everyone that was apart of it!

Well, this Saturday I'll head to New York City to face CM Punk in a dog
collar match. Then next week ROH will be in Dayton on Friday 5/13 and
on 5/14 in his hometown of Chicago Ill beat CM Punk one more time in a
Steel Cage match. I'm really looking forward to my upcoming ROH
schedule!

By the way here's an interesting fact: Roderick Strong has three
refridgerators in his house!

Remembering [Apr. 29th, 2005|04:22 pm]
[mood | sad]

Orginally, I was going to share my stories from this past FIP trip but
now it doesn't seem so important. Who cares really...

Last night I received phone call after phone call that someone I
admired, respected and idolized had passed away. He contributed to this
sport he loved, like none other. Sadly though, I KNOW if he had more
time he would have done so much more. I always enjoyed watching him
wrestle and he could really go. I never hung out with him really but
you didn't need to hang out with him to know he loved his job. You
could see it in his work. We lost someone way too soon and you will be
missed...

Thanks for everything... Chris Candido

So this is it...? [Mar. 28th, 2005|06:16 pm]
[mood |bummed]
[music |its so hard to say goodbye to yesterday by the beatles]

This past Saturday as I pulled out of the gravel filled parking lot in
the middle of nowhere we call Cornelia, GA, I felt different than all
100s of times I had before. I went in the show knowing it was probably
my last match in that very building and probably wouldn't see some of
the people ever again.
When I start at NWA-Widlside it was at the time a developemental
system for WCW. But the guys who were there not under contract carried
that show. Air Paris, AJ Styles, John Phoenix, Jas Cross, David Young,
Rick Michaels, Jeff G Bailey, Lazz, Jc Dazz, Scottie Wrenn, Onyx, Stone
Mountain and a few others made the show what it was. At the time I
start so did a few others and we all bonded because we were the new guys
trying to make a name for ourselves. Murder One, Rainman, Sal Rinauro,
Todd Sexton, Tony Stradlin, Seth Delay, Gaberial and myself wrestled
eachother in a variety of combinations for months on friday shows and Tv
tapings. We all hung out together, traveled together and helped
eachother out as much as possible. As time went one we each grew as
wrestlers and people. We had the guys that had been there for a long
time helping us out (for me it was David Young, Rick Michaels and Aj),
and we were still developing our own styles.
Over the 4 years I spent at Wildside I had some of the best help I
could ask for. The best thing that helped me become a better wrestler
was my feud with Tony Mamaluke. He taught me A LOT, and boy did I need
it. He slowed me down and showed me how to wrestle a good match that
means something. For that I am very thankful.
I'm very proud of all the other guys I came up with. M1 has his own
show, PWE, that is getting off the ground. Todd Sexton became the
trainer at the wildside school and produce some solid wrestlers. He and
I aslo became close friends. Sal Rinauro is another close friend of
mine and is booked all over the place. Seth Delay is Seth Delay and
he's not a "kid" any more. Gaberial is part of the best tag team in
wildside history, The Lost Boys. Tony Stradlin just signed with the
WWE, very proud of him. Rainman has improved soooo much over the
years. I've known him since I was 16 years old and we sometimes laugh
about our first matches. He's earned the Wildside Title and I'm very
proud of him also.
None of this could have happened if Bill Behrens hadn't been there
though. He's helped us all through everything. If anyone of us had a
personal problem or we were being immature kids or if we just needed a
talk, he was always there for us. Bill never lied to us, he never
claimed he'd make us rich or make us stars but he'd just give us a
chance to do what we loved to do. We all didn't always agree with his
ideas or his methods but in the end it always worked out. He has the
ablitity to turn a bad stituation into something that works. Bill
taught us to be professional and yet still make this sport enjoyable for
ourselves. I really hope that all the rumors of Bill going to the WWE
are true, he deserves it.
Well, if that was my last appreance at Wildside then I'd like to thank
the people who made it work: the boys, the help staff, Dragon and
Prazak, Bill, Jeff G., Rick Michaels, Speedy, Andrew, Posey and the
fans...
